Agence Française de Développement (AFD) - Powering villages in Kenya's Turkana County

Financed by the European Union, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and implemented by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the Green Mini-Grid (GMG) project is accelerating access to reliable, affordable energy through the deployment of solar-powered mini-grids in the most remote regions.

With an ambition to reach around 100,000 households, the GMG programme demonstrates what meaningful climate action looks like.

Trans.Lieu was engaged by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and visited Kapua village, located in Kenya’s Turkana County to witness how the GMG project is transforming lives. The video clip is available in English and French.
