The Lundin Foundation's 'Turkana Catalyst Initiative' is a business accelerator and seed financing programme that works as a feeder fund for social impact investors (http://www.lundinfoundation.org/local-procurement/). This project to support local businesses in Turkana County, northern Kenya, was funded through DFID's 'Kenya Extractives Programme' (KEXPRO) and managed by Oxford Policy Management.
Invest in Africa is a 'Credit Guarantee Scheme' in Kenya (http://www.investinafrica.com/news/turkana-sme-business-loan). The project supports short-term SME finance in Turkana County, northern Kenya, and was funded through DFID's 'Kenya Extractives Programme' (KEXPRO) and managed by Oxford Policy Management. Trocaire's project in northern Kenya reduces the risk of extractive industries leading to violent conflict through community engagement. The Kenya Extractives Programme (K-EXPRO) supports local businesses and communities to be better prepared for challenges and opportunities in the extractives sector.

Through local partners, K-EXPRO supported capacity building and training of local businesses in Turkana to take up contracts with Tullow Oil and other large investors in northern Kenya.
