UNICEF Kenya - Polio vaccination in West Pokot County

In November 2024, Kenya conducted a second round of a polio vaccination campaign targeting children under the age of five in high-risk counties. The campaign, which ran from November 9th to 13th, aimed to vaccinate children in counties like Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, West Pokot, Busia, Bungoma, Machakos, and Turkana. This effort was a response to recent polio cases and outbreaks, including one in neighboring Uganda.

Trans.Lieu was engaged by UNICEF Kenya to follow a polio vaccination team in West Pokot County, and produce this feature human-interest story.
