WHO Somalia - Solar energy strengthens measles and polio control

KS Relief‬ and WHO Somalia have installed solar batteries to hospitals in Berbera to ensure they have 24-hour power and alleviate their worries about power outages, loss of reagents and damage to materials stored in refrigerators. The reliable electricity has significantly improved health systems by supporting better surveillance and diagnosis of priority public health diseases such as measles and polio. It also strengthened the laboratory sector and enhanced facilities for routine immunization.

Trans.Lieu was engaged by WHO Somalia to capture a set of photographs, as well as produce a long and short video snippets of the solar batteries in Berbera.
